Risk is something that every business faces and libraries are no different. This session will discuss some strategies and steps libraries can use to mitigate and address common risks.

Data Breaches, Pandemics, Civil Unrest, Accidents, Disasters, Crime. Public libraries, like any business or public accommodation have a duty to safeguard their patrons, staff, and assets. This session will discuss common types of risk and strategies libraries can utilize to mitigate and address it.

Participants in this session will be able to:

Recognize potential sources of risk as it pertains to library operations.

Identify resources that can be used to determine the best option for mitigating a risk.
