Library Law Attorney Anne Seurynck provides an overview of the Library millage process from a legal perspective. Participants will learn the dos and don'ts of ballots and campaigning in Michigan.

Description

Libraries in Michigan are meant to be funded by local support. In many situations that means a millage. In this session, Library Law Attorney Anne Seurynck will walk participants through the intimidating world of Michigan election and campaign finance laws as they apply to Library Millage campaigns.

Learning Outcomes:
1) Participants will be able to identify the Michigan Laws that govern Millage campaigns.

2) Participants will be able to use the information from this session to plan their Millage campaigns.

3) Participants will be able to review their millage procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate laws.
