Summary

Please join Karren Reish to discuss what you can do with the digital inclusion section of the Library of Michigan CARES Act grant. We will also review how the Children's Internet Protect Act (CIPA) applies for internet accessible devices and equipment purchased as part of the CARES Act grant.

Description

Digital Inclusion is part of the CARES Act grants for libraries, but if you aren't familiar with it, join us to learn what kind of services you can start or expand with the grant and what types of devices and access are allowable. We encourage all eligible Michigan public libraries to apply for the grant.

CIPA is an issue with the grant, but not an insurmountable one. Join us to learn just how it applies and does not apply to the CARES Act grants.

AGENDA:
1. Library of Michigan CARES Act grant details - priorities, application and deadline.
2. What is digital inclusion in the grant?
3. How does CIPA apply to the grant?

Attendees will learn the basics of the Library of Michigan CARES Act program, learn some possible services that can be funded as digital inclusion and understand how CIPA applies to any grant purchases.
