Summary

All-day, hands-on workshop specific to the Ploud website template solution for small and rural libraries. Provides practice and learning space for the beginner through intermediate staff person.

Description

This all-day workshop starts with fundamental editing skills like adding text & images and embedding email addresses and extends to advanced functionality such as carousels, collections, cover pages, and portlet manipulation. During the interest survey this spring, the topics most in demand were Extreme Tips & Tricks and Graphic Design for Ploud sites. Both of these topics will be covered in detail.

You can view the entire agenda here: https://www.michlibrary.org/2019-workshops/training-topics-and-requirements. Please note that there are some class requirements, which can also be found at that link. Everyone will be provided with a sandbox site to practice on in class that will continue to be available to you for approximately six months.

Learning Outcome One: Learn all of the basic skills required to operate a Ploud website.
Learning Outcome Two: Become acquainted with advanced functionality that you can take back to your library and implement.
Learning Outcome Three: Learn best practices using other Michigan Ploud sites as examples and practice in class.

This project is made possible by grant funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) administered by the State of Michigan through the Library of Michigan and the Library of Michigan Foundation.
